Sr. DevOps Engineer

Responsibilities
- Lead infrastructure-as-code projects, designing APIs and building tools to be used by engineering teams for reliable and repeatable cloud deployments.
- Implement abstractions to simplify the complexities of cloud providers (AWS), open-source technologies (Kubernetes), and internal EWS infrastructure.
- Obsess about the usability of the systems you build, allowing engineers to have an intuitive and predictable experience working with infrastructure at scale.
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure problems, often spanning multiple layers of the stack and requiring collaboration with multiple teams.
- Design cloud infrastructure for robustness, security, and observability.
- Develop expertise in infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and continuous deployment pipelines.
- Automate AWS services using Terraform and Ansible.
- Architect Kubernetes-based systems and manage container orchestration (Kubernetes, TKGi, EKS, ECS).
- Build and scale CI/CD pipelines and workflow pipelines.
- Support data center operations, including monitoring, alerting, and notifications.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent certifications.
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience in DevOps, software engineering, or a similar field.
- Experience designing cloud infrastructure for robustness, security, and observability.
- Expertise in AWS foundations including compute, networking, storage, observability, and security.
- Strong knowledge of AWS services (EC2, IAM, ELB, Route53, S3, Lambda, Cloud Formation, DynamoDB).
- Experience with highly scalable distributed datacenter or cloud computer systems (AWS, Azure, VM).
- Proficiency with networks, DNS, HTTP, TLS, load-balancing, build systems, Linux, and Docker.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
- Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker & Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of security and encryption protocols.
- Ability to work on multiple projects and facilitate technical design sessions.
- Solid understanding of iterative software development processes.
- Linux administration skills and ability to create/edit scripts.
- Ability to work different schedules as part of an on-call rotation.
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS certification(s) strongly preferred.

Pay
The base pay scale for this position is:
- Phoenix, AZ / Chicago, IL: $106,000 - $130,000 USD per year.
- San Francisco, CA: $128,000 - $156,000 USD per year.
Additionally, candidates are eligible for a discretionary incentive plan. Pay is subject to change and depends on factors such as job scope, market rates, geographic location, education, experience, training, and specialized skills.
Schedule
- Hybrid work model for positions located in Scottsdale, San Francisco, Chicago, or New York.
- On-call rotation required.
Physical Requirements
- Normal office environment with primarily sedentary work, requiring extensive computer use.
- Occasional standing, walking, kneeling, and reaching.
- Must be able to lift 10 pounds occasionally.
