Sr. Development Project Engineer (Data Center Construction)

Responsibilities

  • Assist Development leadership and Project Manager with day-to-day activities and responsibilities
  • Aid in updates on development program & project status on a monthly basis suitable for executive level reviews
  • Collaborate with QTS stakeholders, design, and construction teams to develop master development programs for sites
  • Support entitlement and permitting needs for each assigned site project(s)
  • Participate in procurement and project cost estimates
  • Coordinate submittals with site stakeholders
  • Monitor project budget / cost-to-date against overall project budget
  • Manage project schedules and ensure on-time completion
  • Negotiate change order requests from contractors
  • Create and maintain site construction security procedures
  • Build relationships to enhance QTS's leadership in data center real estate
  • Aid in due diligence efforts on potential or new land banks and properties

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management field or equivalent professional experience
  • Five or more years of professional experience in commercial construction practices and procedures, including management of Lump Sum, Construction Management @ Risk, and Design Build project delivery methods
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite, specifically PowerPoint for program updates and Excel for budgets
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interface with all levels of the organization
  • Capable, proven team player with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
