About the role

The SAP Senior Developer is responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, and maintaining modern, role-based secure RICEFW objects and web applications to automate manual tasks, enhance user experience, and support business processes at JetBlue Airways. This role partners closely with functional analysts, business stakeholders, and peer developers to deliver intuitive, secure, and scalable solutions aligned with SAP Fiori Design Guidelines, best practices, and JetBlue standards.

The SAP Senior Developer focuses on applications development using ABAP, Gateway, OData, and SAP UI5 while integrating with SAP back-end systems like S/4 HANA, SuccessFactors, Ariba, Concur, and other SAP products.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test custom SAP DDIC objects and ABAP-based RICEFW objects.
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy custom UI5 and Fiori applications using recommended IDEs.
  • Customize, enhance, and extend standard SAP programs and Fiori applications to meet business requirements.
  • Develop and customize SAP Fiori themes and CSS using UI Theme Designer.
  • Develop and consume OData (v2/v4) services using NetWeaver Gateway, RAP, or CAP methodologies.
  • Engage in end-to-end application lifecycle management, including deployment to SAP S/4HANA and/or SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) landscapes.
  • Support SAP S/4 HANA and BTP upgrades, enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues for applications maintenance and support adhering to change management processes.
  • Collaborate with functional analysts, business, and matrix partners to deliver user-centric applications.
  • Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and solutions documentation.
  • Available for occasional overnight travel (10%).
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a combination of a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous related IT work experience.
  • Three (3) years of experience in SAP ABAP developing DDIC and RICEFW objects.
  • Three (3) years of experience in SAP Gateway and RAP-based OData services, UI5, and Fiori applications development.
  • Three (3) years of experience working with JavaScript, HTML5, XML, JSON, CSS, and MVC architecture.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP Business Application Studio, Eclipse, and/or Visual Studio Code for SAP Fiori applications development.
  • Familiarity with SAP Fiori Launchpad configuration, catalogs, and role-based access concepts.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, explain technology issues, and work progress to both technical and non-technical staff.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Associate - SAP Fiori Application Developer.
  • ABAP development experience, particularly related to Gateway and OData services, CDS views.
  • Working knowledge of SAP S/4 HANA, particularly in Human Capital Management (HCM) or Finance (FI) processes, and at least one SAP cloud solution such as SuccessFactors, Ariba, or Concur.
  • Experience working on MTA-based applications using SAP HANA Cloud DB as a backend database, including data modeling concepts, performance considerations, or service integration.

Crewmember Expectations

  • Regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short notice.
  • Able to maintain a professional appearance.
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft.
  • Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, exhibiting the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Fun, and Passion.
  • Identify safety and security concerns, issues, incidents, or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible, including using JetBlue's confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report (SAR)).
  • The use of ChatGPT or any other automated tool during the interview process will disqualify a candidate from being considered for the position.

Work Environment

  • Traditional office environment.
  • Physical effort generally not required, or up to 10 pounds occasionally, 0 pounds frequently (sedentary).

Pay

The base pay range for this position is between $105,600.00 and $150,400.00 per year.
