About the role
Barclays Services Corp. seeks Sr. Developer, AVP in Whippany, NJ (multiple positions available).
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain Oracle database applications using SQL, PL/SQL, advanced features like In memory, Container and Pluggable databases, and other database programming languages.
- Research and analyze Enterprise Voluminous Data and perform efficient data management using Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning techniques and Algorithms.
- Implement and maintain tight access control using security features like Virtual Private database (VPD), Redaction, etc.
- Design, maintain and publish data models for Star (Dimensional) and Snowflake (Normalized) using tools like ERwin, TOAD or ER Studio.
- Design and implement efficient database programs through bulk data handling using PL/SQL Tables, Nested Tables, and Arrays in Oracle, Databricks, Snowflake, and Cloud Data Warehouses.
- Manage and process high data volumes, including Petabytes and Exabytes, to meet on premises and cloud onboarding requirements.
- Optimize database performance using various partitioning methods, materialized views, inline views, and temporary tables.
- Conduct performance tuning by query optimization, tuning memory, and tuning disk usage with tools such as Explain Plan, RTSM, AWR, Hang Analyzer, ASH, and ADDM reports.
- Facilitate Scrum sessions with clients, customers, vendors, SMEs, and other stakeholders for reporting and multiple functional and business requirements.
- Automate tasks using Python, Shell scripts, Perl scripts, and PL/SQL.
- Provide support during System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Production deployment including root cause analysis, issue resolutions and closures.
- Design and develop database schemas, stored procedures, queries, views, and fine-tune databases covering Cloud and Non-cloud data warehouses for creating business critical reports and data products.
- Develop and implement designs for data warehouse and related ETL processes utilizing Oracle Big Data SQL to fetch data from HDFS (Hadoop file systems), Object Store, Parquet, Avro, and Apache Spark.
- Perform Proof Of Concepts (POC) using Big data technologies like Hive, Impala, Spark, HDFS, etc.
- Evaluate cloud databases like Databricks, Snowflake, and Starburst on different platforms like AWS, Azure and Google.
- Track defects and maintain code version using various software tools used for code repository, defect tracking, version control like GitLab, GitHub, SVN, and ClearCase.
Requirements
Minimum Salary: $189,592 per year
Maximum Salary: $195,000 per year
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of relevant experience in database development and administration.
- Experience with Oracle Database, PL/SQL, and advanced database features.
- Strong knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing, and data management techniques.
- Experience with AI and Machine Learning techniques and algorithms.
- Experience with cloud databases and cloud computing platforms.
Skills
- Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and other database programming languages.
