Responsibilities
- Develop and design Electrical/Instrumentation & Controls systems and other complex engineering drawings in a 2-D or 3-D environment.
- Check drawings for accuracy including dimensions, spelling, drafting standards, and completeness using correct project design criteria.
- Participate in field walk downs to obtain measurements, verify as-built documentation, and develop field sketches in support of plant modifications and design installations as needed.
- Exercise independent judgment to develop designs with minimal direction from Design Supervisor, Design Lead, or Engineering while concurrently supporting multiple projects.
- Communicate with project engineers and other disciplines to develop drawings and resolve design discrepancies.
- Interface with customers and their construction representatives to integrate designs that meet their standards.
Qualifications
- Education: Associates Degree in drafting, design, or engineering technology or 4 years of equivalent experience in the design of systems.
- Experience: 9 years (minimum) of experience in engineering drafting and strong familiarity in the design of electrical/instrumentation and controls systems.
- Other Qualifications: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, proficient in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation CAD software packages and Microsoft Office software, demonstrated ability to direct drafting personnel, and a working knowledge of design practices, codes, and standards applicable to mechanical systems.
