Responsibilities
- Develop electrical construction drawings, control system schematics, instrumentation diagrams, and loop drawings using CAD software.
- Specify components for electrical and instrumentation systems, including power distribution, motors, controls, sensors, transmitters, and valves.
- Prepare instrument lists, IO lists, installation details, cable schedules, and other technical documentation for projects.
- Ensure designs meet industry codes, standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Work with engineers, project managers, and other disciplines to integrate E&I systems with other project elements.
- Conduct site walkdowns in industrial operating units to verify existing conditions and support the installation and testing phases.
- Proficient in current release of AutoCAD/Plant 3D, Navisworks, and Microsoft Excel.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED with basic drafting courses, training from a vo-tech or other applicable program (or relevant working knowledge/experience).
- 10+ years of technical work experience OR 2-4 years of education (associate or bachelor's degree) with relevant coursework and 8+ years of experience.
- Must have proficiency in utilizing manual and computer-assisted techniques for difficult design applications.
- Understands facilities drawings, cable routing, details, cable tray routing, cable schedules, motor starter schematics, I/O list, panel design, wiring diagrams and schematics.
- Experience with hazardous area classification and intrinsically safe systems.
- Experience preferred: Associates degree in CAD, Previous Oil & Gas experience.
