About the role
The Sr. Designer is responsible for supporting the implementation, integration, administration, and continuous improvement of Autodesk Vault while ensuring product and engineering data is properly controlled, maintained, and managed in accordance with company policies and configuration management requirements. This role serves as a technical resource for Autodesk Inventor and Vault, providing user support, maintaining data integrity, and developing efficient workflows for engineering documentation. The position also creates and maintains detailed engineering drawings, 3D models, and technical documentation to support manufacturing, fabrication, and production activities. When Vault administration responsibilities do not require full-time support, the individual will perform senior-level drafting and design work, collaborating closely with engineering and cross-functional teams to support complex projects and business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Support the implementation, integration, administration, and continuous improvement of Autodesk Vault to ensure the secure and efficient management of engineering and product data
- Maintain data integrity and configuration control by managing document lifecycles, revision control, workflows, user permissions, and engineering records in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Serve as the primary technical resource for Autodesk Vault and Autodesk Inventor users, providing troubleshooting, user support, training, and best-practice guidance
- Monitor and audit Vault data, workflows, and documentation to ensure compliance with company standards, security requirements, and quality objectives
- Develop, maintain, and revise detailed engineering drawings, 3D models, assemblies, and technical documentation using Autodesk Inventor
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and configuration management teams to ensure accurate release, control, and distribution of engineering data and documentation
- Perform senior-level drafting and design assignments in support of engineering projects when Vault administration responsibilities do not require full-time support
Requirements
- High School Diploma and a minimum of five (5) years of experience using Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Vault to create and maintain engineering drawings, 3D models, assemblies, technical documentation, and product data in a product data management (PDM) environment
- Demonstrated knowledge of engineering drawing standards, document control processes, revision management, and configuration management principles
- Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Vault, and related CAD and engineering documentation tools
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Ten (10) or more years of drafting, design, or related technical experience
- Active Secret Security Clearance
- Experience supporting the implementation, integration, administration, or migration of Autodesk Vault in an engineering or manufacturing environment
- Experience developing, maintaining, and improving product data management (PDM) workflows, document control processes, and configuration management practices
Pay
$63,600–$95,400 per year
