About the role
As a Sr. Database Engineer, you’ll be administering Software AG Adabas and Natural databases, maintaining security and access controls, enabling analytics, troubleshooting and resolving bugs, issues, and guiding environment refreshes and upgrades to meet business and compliance needs.
Responsibilities
- Recognized as the center of competence for all matters involving the design or use of the database.
- Responsible for all aspects of the continued operation of the database.
- Ensure that DBMS-compatible standards are understood and observed.
- Resolve problems for the benefit of the organization as a whole.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continuously improve database processes.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on development experience with Natural and ADABAS in enterprise environments.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related IT discipline or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven experience developing and supporting Natural applications (online and batch).
- Extensive experience performing: Complex debugging and root-cause analysis, Production issue resolution and performance tuning, Ad-hoc data analysis and reconciliation.
- Demonstrated ability to write and maintain clear technical documentation, including program specifications and operational runbooks.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical issues for non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong working knowledge of: ADABAS database structures, files, and access paths, Natural subprograms, maps, and batch processing, Job scheduling and execution via JCL and/or SCLS.

Pay
SALARY RANGE: $105,000 - $119,000
