This includes working on both physical and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) native infrastructures. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Postgres Server and modern cloud-native database solutions such as GCP CloudSQL PostgreSQL, Redis, and BigQuery.
This role requires strong collaboration skills, operational support, and contributions to strategic database initiatives. The Senior DBA will embrace DevOps practices by automating database operations, implementing Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) for provisioning and maintaining database environments, managing CI/CD pipelines for database changes, monitoring and alerting using modern tools, and collaborating closely with engineering teams.

- Design and own Terraform modules for GCP databases: Cloud SQL (PostgreSQL), Memorystore (Redis/Valkey), AlloyDB, Spanner, and BigQuery.
- Manage large transactional replication with low-latency delivery; use BigQuery as a replication target and tune performance/cost.
- Implement database changes via IaC (Terraform with GitHub PRs) following performance, security, and reliability best practices.
- Establish backup/restore, PITR, HA/failover testing, DR runbooks, and an overall database support plan.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on schema reviews, query optimization, and BigQuery governance.
- Handle security and audit tasks; respond to support requests and data change needs promptly.
