About the role
Multinational platform Pinterest aims to inspire users to create lives they love through creative ideas and planning. We seek a Senior Data Scientist to enhance our marketing strategies and drive user growth.
Responsibilities
- Conduct deep strategic analysis to measure and optimize marketing tactics and investments.
- Build and deploy statistical and machine learning models to inform marketing strategies and audience targeting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to address business problems and evolve experimentation capabilities.
- Identify and track key metrics, and translate complex findings into actionable insights for stakeholders.
- Design and maintain dashboards and automated reporting tools for data-driven decision-making.
- Develop and optimize ETL data pipelines for analytical models and feature engineering.
Requirements
- 5+ years of combined post-graduate academic and industry experience in applying scientific methods to solve real-world problems.
- A Master's degree in a quantitative field such as mathematics, statistics, computer science, or engineering.
- Hands-on experience building marketing measurement solutions to quantify the business impact of marketing tactics and investments.
- Strong background in statistics and quantitative analysis, with experience in applying advanced statistical techniques to real-world problems.
- Expertise in at least one scripting language (ideally Python/R) and proficiency in SQL/Hive.
- Strong business and product sense, ability to shape vague questions into well-defined analyses and success metrics.
- Excellent communication skills, able to lead initiatives and communicate findings to leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Experience leading key technical projects and strong experimentation background.
- Statistical rigor, experience with causal inference projects.
