Sr. Data Scientist

About the role

The Sr. Data Scientist will work on complex, mission-critical projects involving large datasets. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mathematics, statistics, and computer science, with experience in data science, machine learning, and advanced analytics.

Responsibilities

• Devise strategies for extracting meaning and value from large datasets.
• Make and communicate principled conclusions from data using elements of mathematics, statistics, computer science, and application specific knowledge.
• Develop and implement qualitative and quantitative methods for characterizing, exploring, and assessing large datasets in various states of organization, cleanliness, and structure.
• Translate practical mission needs and analytic questions related to large datasets into technical requirements.
• Aid others in drawing appropriate conclusions from the analysis of such data.
• Effectively communicate complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
• Maintain awareness of NSA/CSS collection, processing, storage, and analytic capabilities and limitations.

Requirements

• TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Applied Statistics, Machine Learning, Data Science, Operations Research, or Computer Science, or a related field with a concentration in advanced mathematics and/or computer science.
• Relevant experience in designing/implementing machine learning, data science, advanced analytical algorithms, programming, data mining, advanced statistical analysis, artificial intelligence, workflow and reproducibility, data management and curation, data modeling and assessment, and software engineering.
