Sr. Data Scientist
About the role
bioMerieux’s Data Science group is seeking an experienced Data Scientist to contribute to the development of innovative diagnostic product concepts. The role involves applying mathematical techniques, data analytics, and machine learning methodologies to drive product design from ideation to feasibility.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with other scientists and engineers to prototype, integrate, and test diagnostic technologies for hospitals and laboratories.
- Coordinate with marketing, project management, quality analytics, manufacturing, regulatory, and other functional areas to ensure project success.
- Prototype and design solutions that meet functionality and operational utility requirements, considering long-term architecture, solution universality, practicality, connectivity, and schedule commitments.
- Perform statistical analysis to interpret experimental results and design experimental methods and plans to drive critical product design selections.
- Develop and implement algorithms using global software development tools, methodologies, and processes.
- Self-learn and stay updated with the latest developments in data analytics, image processing, and machine learning.
- Work in a small team environment with minimal supervision, performing all work in compliance with company quality procedures and standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Applied Mathematics/Statistics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Biomedical Engineering.
- 5+ years of professional experience in Machine Learning, Statistics, Image Analysis, Signal/Time Series Analysis, and programming in Python or R.
- Masters or PhD preferred, especially in relevant fields.
- Experience in ISO or FDA-regulated environments.
- Familiarity with or interest in biology, microbiology, and biochemistry.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
- Excellent presentation skills and ability to work cross-functionally.

- Master's or PhD in relevant field.

Benefits
The estimated salary range for this role is between $115,000 and $160,000. This role is eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and individual performance per bioMérieux’s bonus program. This range may differ from ranges offered for similar positions elsewhere in the country given differences in cost of living. Actual compensation within this range is determined based on the successful candidate’s experience and will be presented in writing at the time of the offer.
Pay
The estimated salary range for this role is between $115,000 and $160,000.
