About the role

Our team provides senior National Security leaders with decision-worthy data and analysis to enhance the effectiveness of Intelligence systems supporting Department of War (DoW) Warfighters. We are building mission-critical intelligence workflows to deliver decision advantage for the Office of the Under Secretary of War for Intelligence and Security (OUSW(I&S)).

We seek a TS//SCI-cleared Data Engineer with diverse technical skills, a drive to learn and innovate, and a foundational understanding of the defense intelligence enterprise. The data engineering team uses open-source scripting and data visualization tools to wrangle, clean, analyze, and display data in decision support tools for senior leaders within the Department of War.

Responsibilities

• Develop analytic tools, deliver mission support services, and create data visualization capabilities using data engineering or software development skills.
• Apply programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Java, Visual Basic for Applications, R) to deliver data engineering and software development services.
• Leverage graph databases and platforms to deliver analytics.
• Support intelligence workflows for senior National Security leaders, ensuring decision advantage for OUSW(I&S).

Requirements

• U.S. Citizen with active TS//SCI clearance or immediate eligibility per DISS security database (SCI within the last 2 years).
• Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in STEM fields.
• 7+ years of experience applying data engineering or software development skills to develop analytic tools and data visualization capabilities.
• 5+ years of experience using programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Java, Visual Basic for Applications, R).
• 1+ years of experience leveraging graph databases and platforms for analytics.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s Degree, preferably in STEM fields.
• 5+ years of general experience in the military or intelligence community; exposure to ISR capabilities is highly desired.
• 5+ years of experience with database development (e.g., MongoDB, PostgreSQL) or web development (e.g., JavaScript, React, Node.js).
• 5+ years of experience leading data engineering or software development teams.
• Experience and/or proficiency in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and/or Natural Language Processing.
