Sr. Data Center Technician
About The Role
As a CBRE Data Center Sr. Technician, you will perform preventative maintenance and complex corrective repairs within a Data Center operation. This job is part of the Critical and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for technical maintenance services in critical client environments.
What You’ll Do
- Manage daily site inspections of all Mechanical & Engineering systems and technical equipment, including servicing and maintenance.
- Ensure the site's environmental conditions provide a safe work environment.
- React to Building Management System alarms, and complete emergency repairs as needed.
- Make sure third parties and vendors follow compliance with company-developed processes, procedures, and all applicable laws and regulations.
- Accompany vendor’s on-site visits as needed and ensure site standards are met.
- Verify subcontractor performance meets all requirements per the Master Service Agreement.
- Complete planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance on all equipment.
- Assist staff with tricky situations.
- Check BMS for running and alarm conditions and respond to complex HVAC-related client problems.
- Review meter readings from UPS, PDU and utilities to ensure accurate information is documented.
- Provide Mechanical and Electrical troubleshooting.
- Provide fixes to facility and plant faults and defects.
- Ensure that suitable spares are available to carry out maintenance at the site.
- Complete assigned work according to established processes and procedures.
- Follow all safety processes and requirements and confirm all regulatory requirements and quality standards are met.
- Operate a permit-to-work system under the company’s health and safety procedures.
- Verify that appropriate controls are within the Permit-to-Work systems.
- Ensure that ACOP’s applicable to the maintenance industry procedures.
- Conduct routine quality checks for comprehensive maintenance records.
- Help create and develop work processes, Job Hazard Analysis reports, and SOPs for critical work with risk assessment.
- Ensure that CERM documents and logbooks are updated.
- Complete all required training to ensure successful completion of all job-related responsibilities.
What You'll Need
- A High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 1-2 years of job-related experience.
- In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
- Ability to work shifts that may include weekends and holidays.
- Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
- Experience with analyzing information and standard practices to make judgments.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Organizational skills with a strong inquisitive mindset.
- Intermediate math skills. Ability to calculate difficult figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial related calculations.
