About the role

The Data & Analytics—Business Insights & Analytics team at Target is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to join our dynamic team. This role leverages data, statistics, and visualization to generate actionable insights that drive value across multiple business functions.

Responsibilities

• Work with cross-functional teams to understand data needs, value opportunities, and deliver solutions in partnership with digital technology and data engineering teams to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
• Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and security of data across all reports and analysis.
• Communicate complex data clearly through detailed reports and dashboards using various tools, designs, and implements data visualizations.

• Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets for values and new opportunities.
• Develop and implement data models to identify and analyze trends or patterns in complex data sets for values and new opportunities.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand data needs, value opportunities, and deliver solutions in partnership with digital technology and data engineering teams to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
• Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and security of data across all reports and analysis.
• Translate ideas between business and technical teams and cultivate positive relationships with partners to find improvement opportunities and ensure reporting solutions address key objectives.

Requirements

• A 4-year degree or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience as a Data Analyst in industry with strong performance in a quantitative field or equivalent experience.
• Advanced SQL experience writing complex queries and accomplished in Python or R.
• Experience with analytics tools such as: SQL, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Power BI, Adobe Analytics (or Google Analytics) and/or equivalent technologies.
• Knowledge of A/B Testing methods and time series forecasting models including statistical analysis.
• Builds detailed reports and dashboards using various tools, designs, and implements data visualizations to communicate complex data clearly.
• Experience leveraging advanced analytics and AI-driven approaches (e.g., predictive modeling, machine learning, or AI-enabled tools) to enhance decision-making.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams to understand data needs, value opportunities, and delivering solutions in partnership with digital technology and data engineering teams to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
• Solid problem-solving, analytical skills, data curiosity, data mining, data creation and consolidation.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to speak to both business and technical teams.

Pay

The pay range is $88,000.00 - $158,000.00. Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position, including labor markets and in some instances may include education, work experience, and certifications.

Schedule

This role may be considered for a Remote or Hybrid (known internally at Target as "Flex for Your Day") work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that's not a Target location, does not have a desk at a Target location, and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member's core role may be performed either remote or onsite at a Target location depending upon what your role, team, and tasks require for that day. Work duties cannot be performed outside of the country of the primary work location, unless otherwise prescribed by Target.
