Responsibilities
- Analyze production costs, material usage, labor, and overhead trends to identify variances and support informed business decisions.
- Maintain and review standard cost data to ensure pricing structures and inventory valuation remain accurate and current.
- Prepare recurring cost reports and interpret financial results for plant leadership and finance stakeholders.
- Lead month-end close activities related to inventory, cost allocations, and manufacturing expense reporting.
- Investigate differences between actual and expected costs and recommend corrective actions to improve financial performance.
- Partner with operations, supply chain, and accounting teams to validate cost drivers and strengthen internal reporting processes.
- Support inventory-related reconciliations, including valuation reviews and adjustments tied to production activity.
- Contribute to process improvements involving cost tracking, reporting consistency, and financial controls within the manufacturing environment.
Requirements
- Strong experience in cost accounting, ideally within a manufacturing setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting principles and inventory valuation methods.
- Hands-on expertise with standard costing and detailed cost variance analysis.
- Able to manage month-end close responsibilities related to cost and inventory accounting.
- Proficiency in analyzing financial data and translating findings into actionable business insights.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently in a deadline-driven environment.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with finance and operational teams.
