Sr. Corporate Counsel - Contracts
About the role
For our client, we are seeking a Sr. Corporate Counsel - Contracts to join the team of a leader in the Healthcare space. This attorney will serve as a key legal partner supporting a broad range of commercial contracting activity across a regulated healthcare environment. The role will focus on drafting, negotiating, and advising on agreements that support operations, customer relationships, and business growth while helping the organization manage legal and regulatory risk. The position will also work closely with internal stakeholders and external counterparts to improve contract processes, strengthen compliance, and support efficient contract lifecycle management. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available. Compensation: $225,000 – $250,000 annually.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice and support for a wide range of commercial contracts.
- Draft and negotiate agreements including software, SaaS, consulting, and clinical trial contracts.
- Advise decision-makers in contract negotiations, helping identify and manage risks.
- Support international operations by addressing legal risks and collaborating on mitigation strategies.
- Implement and improve processes for key legal responsibilities.
- Monitor contract compliance, covenants, and expiration timelines alongside contract administrators.
- Enhance training and communication regarding Legal department procedures.
- Work cross-functionally to ensure agile contract lifecycle management and compliance.
Qualifications
- Law degree (JD or equivalent) with excellent academic credentials and a license to practice in California or registered as In-House Counsel.
- 10+ years of relevant legal experience, focusing on complex commercial transactions in the medical device, pharmaceutical, or biotech sectors.
- Significant knowledge of contract law and its applications in a corporate environment.
- Familiarity with federal regulations including the False Claims Act, Anti-Kickback Statute, and Food Drug and Cosmetic Act.
- Knowledge of general privacy laws and regulations, including HIPAA, CCPA, and GDPR compliance.
- Understanding of international and state regulations applicable to medical devices.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities; adept at independent work and prioritization.
- High level of integrity and sound judgment.
