Senior Consultant, Network Security Job Summary The Senior Consultant in ivision’s Consulting Services organization is responsible for solution design, technical leadership, and client project delivery. This role ensures successful project outcomes, supports sales efforts as needed, and leads the technical approach for an assigned workstream or small-to-medium engagement. Within ivision's Enterprise Infrastructure practice, this includes hands-on implementation, policy migration, troubleshooting, and cross-domain integration across Cisco's security and modern networking portfolios, including SSE, SASE, SD-WAN, and related technologies. Senior Consultants are expected to independently execute project deliverables, identify and mitigate project risks, provide guidance to consulting team members, and build strong client relationships. Success in this role requires strong technical expertise, project leadership, achievement of billable utilization targets, and demonstration of ivision's Client Engagement Values. Supervisory Responsibilities May lead a small project team or workstream, assigned as needed based on project scope and staffing; this does not typically include formal people-management responsibility (hiring, compensation, performance-review ownership), which may be assigned starting at the Principal Consultant tier when organizational needs require. Not all Senior Consultants will lead a team. Essential Functions Project Delivery Lead small to medium-sized projects or workstreams independently, and act as SME across multiple related skillsets, shaping the structure of deliverables.Own level-of-effort (LOE) estimation for your scope; build work-breakdown structures and backlog items with clear assumptions and acceptance criteria under the Momentum Framework.Ensure workstream deliverables and timelines adhere to the Statement of Work (SOW) and Momentum project plan, while maintaining ivision’s high quality standards.Manage change requests in partnership with the Project Manager/Account team; document scope variances and assumptions.Drive alignment among internal and external stakeholders; facilitate working sessions and support UAT planning and readiness with client stakeholders.Enforce documentation completeness and apply peer reviews/quality checks; ensure adherence to client security, privacy, and regulatory standards within your workstream.Identify project risks and proactively communicate internally and externally to drive client satisfaction while solving the client’s business challenges.Excel in building and maintaining strong client relationships; proactively identify scope-expansion opportunities and coordinate Change Orders or add-on services with the PM/Account team.Facilitate clear and effective communication among internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment and understanding.Maintains a consistent focus on meeting billable utilization targets for assigned workstreams while safeguarding delivery quality — the primary measure of success at this tier.Leads deployment of Cisco Secure Access (ZTNA, SWG, CASB), interconnecting it with Cisco SD-WAN fabrics; configures, migrates, and optimizes cloud-delivered firewalls (FWaaS) and physical/virtual NGFW platforms (Firepower/ASA) across client environments.Utilizes Cisco Security Cloud Control to centrally manage, audit, and orchestrate consistent firewall policy — including micro/macro-segmentation — across hybrid environments; authors low-level designs (LLDs), migration plans, and post-deployment validation playbooks.Implements and integrates Cisco Secure Access with enterprise identity platforms including Duo, Microsoft Entra ID, Okta, and other identity providers to support Zero Trust access, MFA, posture validation, and authentication requirements.Assists in the deployment and integration of Cisco XDR, Security Cloud Control, and related security operations technologies to improve visibility, correlation, and response workflows across client environments.Implements and migrates Cisco enterprise networking solutions including Catalyst switching, wireless infrastructure, routing, SD-WAN, and network management platforms while adhering to approved designs and project requirements.Executes testing, validation, and troubleshooting activities across security and networking platforms, documents results, and resolves technical issues to ensure successful project outcomes.Develops and executes migration plans for network, security, and identity services while minimizing client disruption and ensuring successful knowledge transfer.Serves as a subject matter expert during client technology roadmap and strategy workshops, assessing current-state environments, identifying modernization and optimization opportunities, and providing recommendations for Cisco security and networking solutions aligned to business requirements. Administration Manage time to successfully execute assigned project tasks and meet billable utilization targets while meeting project timelines and maintaining client satisfaction.Provide weekly and monthly forecasts of billable/non-billable hours for assigned workstreams, and assist the PM/Account team in reconciling forecast vs. actual hours.Track time and notes for assigned project tasks and overall project status.Monitor personal utilization and proactively adjust priorities to meet targets while maintaining delivery quality. Professional Development Advance multi-skill technical expertise and pursue intermediate/advanced certifications relevant to your practice area.Contribute to accelerators and templates; present internal sessions on lessons learned.Develop competencies in estimation, scoping, and delivery governance.Drive continuous improvement by maintaining relevant knowledge of the latest tools and emerging technologies — including Cisco's current security portfolio (e.g., Hypershield, XDR, AI Defense, Splunk-integrated detection and response, Duo Passport, Continuous Identity Security); adapt and learn new technologies, products, and processes as needed.Complete training courses and obtain any associated certifications as required. Mentorship Guide and coach Consultants on tasks, best practices, and Momentum methodology.Provide informal feedback to team members to support growth and performance.Foster collaboration and open communication within the project team and across practices; assist in onboarding and integration of new team members into projects.Knowledge-share and train team members in areas where you are a subject matter expert (SME). Sales Support Attend internal sales initiatives and client-facing sales calls as a technical resource.Provides technical expertise during the sales cycle by contributing implementation guidance, solution recommendations, and delivery considerations to support proposed solutions and client requirementsProvide technical support through creation of presentations, demonstrations, implementation guidance, and pre-sales documentation in support of solution development activities.Contributes technical input to ROMs, LOEs, Statements of Work, implementation plans, assumptions, and delivery estimates within their area of expertise.Collaborate with Account Executives and Solution Architects to align technical recommendations with client needs. Service Offering Development Provide subject matter expertise for assigned technology domains during solution development, and recommend approaches to solutioning and tooling within your area of expertise.Creates solution artifacts, implementation plans, and technical documentation that support established Ready-for-Sale/Ready-for-Delivery (RFS/RFD) standards and delivery frameworks.Collaborate with Solution Architects (SAs), Customer Success SMEs, and RFS/RFD teams to ensure consistency and quality, and validate that solutions align with client requirements and ivision delivery frameworks.Contributes lessons learned, technical recommendations, and reusable project artifacts to support continuous improvement of practice delivery standards. OEM Partners / Vendors Act as a technical resource in discussions with OEM/vendor teams for solution clarification, and validate compatibility of vendor solutions with client requirements.Provide feedback on vendor tools and features to internal teams, and support the vendor relationship during pre-sales or delivery by contributing technical insights.Maintain relevant certifications and stay current on vendor roadmap updates; participate in vendor-provided training or certification programs as required. Education, Experience, Certification Typically has 5–8 years of overall IT experience, including 2–4 years in a consulting capacity.BS/BA (EE/CS) or equivalent in computer science or related technical field is preferred.Intermediate/advanced technical certifications relevant to the practice area preferred (vary by practice area); for the Enterprise Infrastructure practice, strong Cisco Security expertise is required, with Cisco CCNP Security or CCNP Enterprise preferred.Experience leading small project teams or workstreams is preferred, but not required — task-lead responsibilities are assigned as needed.Experience supporting project management and resource tracking techniques within a workstream.Professional Services sales support experience is desired, including exposure to ROM/LOE/SOW development.Knowledge of IT project lifecycle required. Familiarity with PMP and/or agile methodologies preferred, including working knowledge of the ivision Momentum Framework. Knowledge of ITIL or other IT service management expertise desired.
