Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Affiliate with the Construction Group to oversee capital projects from inception to completion.
- Participate in project teams to define project scope, estimate costs, and develop schedules.
- Attend site field and scope visits to assist in project development.
- Develop detailed construction plans and outage requirements.
- Identify and obtain necessary permits for construction projects.
- Create bid packages and select vendors based on responses.
- Organize and conduct pre-bid meetings with contractors.
- Collaborate on design constructability reviews to prevent costly expenses.
- Create detailed construction plans, including outage dates and resource requirements.
- Identify and address project safety hazards and environmental concerns.
- Maintain and report on the project construction schedule and budget.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements during construction.
- Oversee construction sites managed by contractors for transmission substations and lines.
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills And Abilities)
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent required.
- At least ten (10) years of experience in electric utility transmission and distribution, construction, manufacturing, or similar industries.
- Superior interpersonal, leadership, communication, organizational, and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office suite, especially MS Word and MS Excel.
Physical Requirements
- Able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
- Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities.
- Sufficient vision or other powers of observation.
- Sufficient manual dexterity.
- Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes.
