Sr. Construction Manager (2874)

Job Duties And Responsibilities

• Affiliate with the Construction Group to oversee capital projects from inception to completion.
• Participate in project teams to define project scope, cost estimates, and schedules.
• Attend site field and scope visits and assist in developing project schedules, including critical paths.
• Create detailed construction plans and identify necessary permits.
• Develop bid packages and select vendors based on responses.
• Organize and lead pre-bid meetings with contractors.
• Review and approve construction contract bid packages.
• Collaborate on design constructability reviews to prevent costly expenses.
• Create detailed construction plans, including outage requirements and construction resource needs.
• Identify and address project safety hazards and environmental concerns.
• Monitor and report on project construction schedule and costs.
• Conduct quality assurance checks during construction.
• Maintain close oversight of construction contracts and as-built documentation.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Supervise construction sites for transmission substations and lines.

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills And Abilities)

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent required.
• At least ten (10) years of relevant experience in electric utility transmission and distribution, construction, manufacturing, or similar industries.
• Superior interpersonal, leadership, communication, organizational, and presentation skills.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly MS Word and MS Excel.

Physical Requirements

• Able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
• Must be able to sit for extended periods.
• Must have clear speech and hearing or other means of communication.
• Must have sufficient manual dexterity for office duties.
• Must be physically capable of performing office tasks and traveling to various job sites.
