Sr Configuration Manager

Role SMS has an immediate opening for a Configuration Manager – Sr on the Cryptologic and Cyber Division (CCSD) Security team at the Lackland Air Force Base site in San Antonio, TX. The team ensures communications are secure and protected against cyber threats while providing continuous access for authorized users.

Responsibilities

• Perform requirements analysis and recommend IT solutions for submitted requirements.
• Work directly with the customer (Product Owner and other stakeholders) to gather, refine, and confirm requirements.
• Answer questions about the details of confirmed requirements and verify new issues with the customer.
• Coordinate with the IT Project Manager to communicate changes that impact scope, schedule, or cost.
• Provide information to the HNC‑TO Requirements Review Board (RRB) and Configuration Control Board (CCB) for approval of requirements.
• Conduct site surveys at required locations, document findings, and report actions needed for system installation.
• Address technical inquiries, perform research, and interface with distributors, customers, and support organizations for IT‑related issues.
• Interpret IT requirements, gather additional information, and deliver technical solutions in accordance with CCSD and JBSA Lackland baseline configurations.
• Oversee the Requirements Review Board (RRB) to ensure new requirements are within scope.
• Perform weekly project reviews, ensuring proper assignment and involvement.
• Provide input on project priorities based on customer need dates and concurrence in HNC‑TO CCB.
• Communicate with HNC‑TO sections and host base units (502CS, 690th, AF JWICS, NSA) to approve baseline configurations and ready IT assets for deployment.
• Execute and monitor the Quality Acceptance/Quality Control (QA/QC) program to meet HNC expectations.
• Attend weekly meetings to update Government leadership on status, issues, and resolutions.
• Assist the Base Equipment Control Officer (BECO) with asset management.
• Manage software asset lifecycle from procurement to retirement, including applications, license agreements, and upgrades.
• Maintain asset inventory and track financial aspects such as cost, depreciation, leases, maintenance agreements, and service task orders.
• Ensure software compliance with DoD and Air Force instructions related to Unit Software License Manager.
• Perform USLM inventories as required and report to the Government Lead.

Required Qualifications

• 5–8 years of directly related experience in requirements analysis, quality assurance, and quality control.
• Experience supporting classified intelligence networks is a plus.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to take on new challenges.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow policies and procedures.
• Clear speaking voice and ability to respond clearly to questions.
• Aptitude for addressing negative situations and resolving them positively.

Desired Qualifications

• Familiarity with the Microsoft Power Automate set of tools.

Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education, certifications, training, or experience.
• IAT‑II: Security+ CE, or SSCP.

Clearance

• Must hold an active DoD TS/SCI clearance or a Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI.
