Sr. Communications Manager
About the role
Drive communications activities and content that advance Amcor’s objectives for its North American Flexibles businesses, building trust, engagement, and brand for both employee and external audiences. This role leads multichannel initiatives, creating awareness, engagement, and adoption across key business units and functions. The senior manager will bring hands-on media relations, executive visibility, and emerging communications technology experience into day-to-day work. The role also supports the broader organization and global communications team through participation in comms function workstreams, corporate events, and special initiatives.
Geographic scope: North America. No direct reports.
Responsibilities
- Manage and evolve key internal communications ecosystems, including intranet, town halls, and organizational announcements.
- Develop and own end-to-end communications strategy and campaigns for various projects and programs, ensuring alignment with leadership messaging, transformation initiatives, and organizational updates.
- Successfully roll out and implement new internal tools and processes with a focus on employee engagement and change communications.
- Build strong relationships with senior leadership, business partners, divisions, and functions, providing communications counsel that guides messaging, timing, and campaign strategy.
- Balance vision with hands-on execution to deliver communication strategies effectively.
- Create communication strategies that drive adoption, positively influence behaviors, and continuously evolve based on the company’s direction.
- Define consistent communication processes across functions and teams to drive alignment, understanding, and efficiency.
- Maintain an audience-focused mindset that drives adoption.
- Identify opportunities, strategies, and stories, and develop high-impact internal communications campaigns to support business groups while staying aligned with the company’s overall goals and objectives. This may include communications support for plant safety initiatives, community relations, company volunteer activities, policy changes, and more.
- Draft and secure input and approvals for a variety of written communications, including intranet stories, digital signage, employee emails, media alerts, press releases, and executive presentations.
- Help senior leaders prepare for key internal and external engagements (e.g., presentation materials, speeches, executive biographies, talking points).
- Provide support for external communications initiatives, including news releases, media outreach, press inquiry response, and social media posts.
- Serve as an organizational point of contact for Amcor style guide and corporate brand standards.
- Manage reporting and analytics for communications channels, making recommendations to improve adoption, reach, and relevance of communication campaigns.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in liberal arts, communications, or journalism.
- Minimum seven years’ experience as a corporate communicator.
- Media and public relations experience.
- Social media experience is a plus.
- Preference for manufacturing sector experience.
- Experience working at a large, global company with 50,000+ employees is a plus.
- Strong writing and editing skills.
- Ability to independently manage medium to high load/complexity projects.

- Well-rounded communicator with the experience and ability to interact with media, create and monitor social media content, and support community engagement efforts.
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (including OneDrive, SharePoint, and PowerPoint).
- Ability to leverage AI and emerging communications technologies.
Pay
The starting salary for this position is expected to be between $129,200 to $161,500; however, base pay offered may vary within the full salary range of $129,200 to $193,800 depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on national averages, and a geographic differential may be applied based on work location. The position may also be eligible for Amcor’s Management Incentive Plan/Sales Incentive Plan, which is an annual bonus program based on business and individual performance.
