Sr Commercial Relationship Manager II
About the Role
As a Relationship Manager (“RM”), you will handle multi-faceted relationships by engaging prospective and existing clients to generate loans, deposits, and fees within a geographic area. You will determine credit eligibility, prepare loan narratives, ensure loans meet appropriate criteria, and effectively cross-sell a wide variety of products. This role involves marketing products and services, monitoring and enhancing profitability on assigned relationships, and contributing to corporate sales and service goals to build customer relationships and enhance shareholder value. The position is typically located in a market hub or other high business potential area.
Responsibilities
- Develop and expand client relationships by initiating business development activities, proactively reviewing client’s financial needs, and cross-selling products and services.
- Grow and maintain a profitable book of business (loans and deposits) to achieve individual and market goals.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of client needs through review and analysis of personal and financial data.
- Qualify prospects by collecting and analyzing financial and related data to determine creditworthiness and merits of loan requests.
- Prepare and oversee completion of loan approval requirements, including underwriting to ensure the structure meets borrower and bank needs.
- Obtain appropriate approval for credit under consideration and negotiate terms such as pricing, fees, repayment methods, and collateral requirements.
- Manage portfolio credit quality, including monitoring past due credits, non-performing loans, credit exceptions, and covenant compliance.
- Actively participate in community, civic, and professional organizations on behalf of First Financial Bank.
- Refer loans to the loan committee for approval.
- Understand clients’ financial goals, provide credible advice, and recommend products that fit their holistic needs.
- Understand clients’ business priorities and refer them to other lines of business as appropriate.
- Collaborate with Bankers, Financial Center Managers, Retail Leaders, Credit/Underwriting, Loan Processing, and Documentation teams, as well as Bank senior management.
- Participate in bank marketing and sales promotions, contribute to strategic initiatives, and comply with all bank, loan, and regulatory guidelines and policies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Ten (10) years of proven relationship/account management experience selling banking products in the appropriate segmentation.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to generate new business through a consultative sales approach.
- Demonstrated sales and negotiating experience.
- Marketing-oriented mindset.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals and groups in managing customer relationships.
- Comprehensive product knowledge.
- Credit training, credit quality, and underwriting experience, including financial analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience working in Capital Markets and/or within the Middle Market space ($75MM+).
- Experience in Structured Finance, Asset Based Lending (ABL), ESOP, and/or leading syndicated transactions.
Skills

Pay
$130,000/year to $210,000/year.
