Overview
Kemin is seeking a Sr. CLS Associate to join their team in Des Moines, Iowa. This role is responsible for executing and supporting Customer Laboratory Services (CLS), application research, and new product initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Developing project protocols to demonstrate product effectiveness in customer operations
- Partnering closely with Sales, Marketing, and Technical Services teams to identify new opportunities
- Monitoring test progress while analyzing and summarizing data to validate results
- Performing advanced problem solving, data analysis, and accurately checking large amounts of data
- Advanced method development, method validation, and formulation, as applicable
- Generating, interpreting, and presenting accurate data consistently (internally and externally)
- Generating and interpreting technical reports
- Operating advanced lab equipment
- Designing application research projects, as applicable
- Communicating product support and providing technical recommendations to customers (internal and external)
- Understanding and supporting Kemin products and services, as applicable
- Following, ensuring, and monitoring good laboratory and safety practices
- Attending and presenting at tradeshows, conferences, and participating in customer meetings, as applicable
- Aiding in training of others
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a Scientific Field with 5-7 years of related experience OR Associates Degree in a Scientific Field with 7-10 years of related experience
- Food Science experience highly preferred
- Solid understanding and adherence to the Servant Leadership philosophy
- Strong communication skills (written and oral)
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and exercise discretion and judgement with guidance from manager
- Ability to coordinate projects and oversee project teams
- Advanced statistics and/or basic chemometrics
- Advanced computer skills and MS Office knowledge and experience
- Advanced skills with Excel including ability to write formulas and generate graphs
- Detail-oriented and ability to multi-task
