Sr. Cloud Solutions Analyst
We're seeking a Sr. Cloud Solutions Analyst to become the Cloud Solutions team’s primary specialist for Microsoft Azure infrastructure, filling a current expertise gap within our fully cloud-based environment. This role will own and support Azure networking and security capabilities while helping maintain reliable, secure access to infrastructure, applications, and services used across the organization.
About the role
The Sr. Cloud Solutions Analyst will resolve operational tickets and access issues, administer security policies and tools, complete patching and certificate renewals, monitor performance, and execute approved changes. Additionally, the analyst will contribute to strategic cloud initiatives through solution design, project preparation, implementation, communication, documentation, and change management. This investment adds specialized Azure knowledge to reduce operational risk, improve cloud support, and increase the team’s capacity to deliver infrastructure and security projects. The position supports employees whose work helps public and private clients address water, infrastructure, and environmental challenges.
Responsibilities
- Administer and troubleshoot Azure networking and security, including routing, firewall policies, and zero-trust access.
- Manage security policies, segmentation, and tools such as Illumio microsegmentation and Cato zero-trust network access.
- Resolve operational tickets, access issues, and perform patching, certificate renewals, and scheduled infrastructure changes.
- Monitor performance and maintain reliable, secure access to cloud infrastructure, applications, and services.
- Contribute to strategic cloud initiatives through solution design, project preparation, implementation, and documentation.
- Support automation and repeatable tasks using basic PowerShell and Azure CLI scripting.
- Collaborate on change management and coordinate competing priorities with strong project execution skills.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of cloud networking: routing, network protocols, traffic flows, and firewall concepts.
- Experience managing security policies, segmentation, zero-trust access, data loss prevention, and related controls.
- Hands-on administration of Azure services, including networking, routing, security, Key Vault, compute, and storage.
- Independent troubleshooting and operational support experience covering tickets, access issues, patching, and certificate renewals.
- Understanding of security and compliance practices, including SOC 2 and the NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
- Five or more years of relevant experience in a similar role, plus a relevant degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience supporting strategically important projects and providing guidance to colleagues is preferred.
Skills
- Azure networking and security services (routing, firewall policies, Azure Key Vault, microsegmentation, zero-trust network access).
- Basic PowerShell and Azure CLI scripting for cloud administration and automation.
- Project management, communication, organization, and collaboration for coordinating changes and priorities.
Qualifications
- Preferred certifications: Microsoft Azure Fundamentals and Azure Administrator.
- Additional relevant Azure certifications are strong differentiators.
- MS Teams or Meraki certifications are welcome but not primary selection criteria.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $52.00 - $62.00/hr. Individual compensation offered within this range will depend on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
