Sr. Cloud Hardware Development Engineer, Mechanical/Thermal/Robotics, AWS Hardware Engineering

Key job responsibilities

• Perform mechanical and thermal design and development for complex electronic systems
• Design and validate systems and subsystems to meet program objectives
• Participate in the cross-discipline design process working with other HW and SW team members to develop optimized integrated solutions
• Conduct failure analysis and solution validation for product development and fleet systems
• Manage interaction with overseas resources
• Provide mentorship and technical reviews to a team of mechanical/thermal design engineers
• Assess server designs for automated assembly, design for automation and throughput efficiency.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
• 7 years experience in thermal and mechanical design of server technologies or equivalent technology

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
• 9 years experience in thermal and mechanical design of server technologies or equivalent technology
• Experience with the project management of technical projects
• Experience with thermal analysis tools such as CFD (e.g., Flotherm, ANSYS Icepak, or similar)
• Proficiency with 3D CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo/ProE)
• Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production
• Experience in systems integration of complex server products
• Expertise or familiarity with automation and design for automated assembly.
