Role Overview
We are seeking an innovative and passionate Cloud Engineer to deliver cutting-edge solutions in architecting, implementing, and maintaining secure cloud solutions for mission-driven objectives. You will collaborate with dynamic cross-functional teams to design and deliver scalable, efficient platforms that empower real-world impact in high-stakes environments. Key Responsibilities
- Design and deploy cloud-based solutions tailored to vital mission needs.
- Spearhead cloud migration strategies and ensure cost-efficient cloud management.
- Implement robust zero-trust security models, encryption, and identity access controls.
- Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible to automate provisioning and manage configurations.
- Partner with software engineers and DevOps teams to deliver seamless, scalable technical solutions.
- Build and manage containerized workloads using Kubernetes, Docker, or OpenShift.
- Support government cloud environments and apply a strong understanding of DevSecOps principles.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
- Experience: 9+ years in cloud engineering, including hands-on expertise with AWS, Azure, or equivalent cloud platforms. Experience supporting government cloud environments is required.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible).
- Practical experience with container orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker).
- Strong familiarity with cloud security policies and tools, including encryption and IAM.
- Expertise in Linux/Windows system administration within cloud environments.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
- Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies with tools like JIRA.
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect.
- Additional security certifications like CISSP, CCSP, or Security+.
- Experience in cloud-cost optimization (e.g., AWS Cost Explorer).
- Competence with serverless architectures, microservices, or analytics platforms.
- Knowledge of enterprise system integration (Active Directory, hybrid data platforms, HPC).
