Sr. Clinical Lead Pharmacist-Specialty OP Pharmacy-FT Variable Shift

About the role

The Outpatient Specialty Pharmacy Clinical Lead (OSPCL) reports to the Pharmacy Manager and leads and directs the clinical, administrative, and financial aspects of outpatient specialty pharmacy (OSP) services to support safe and effective management of specialty medication therapies.

Responsibilities

  • Work with pharmacy management to design, plan, and implement pharmacy-related clinical programs.
  • Direct specialty clinical pharmacists working in the specialty program and serve as Senior Pharmacist on the Specialty Pharmacy Quality Management Committee.
  • Lead program quality improvement projects and policy and procedure development in accord with URAC and ACHC accreditation.
  • Perform new drug reviews, assist in the development of new clinical programs for the OSP including but not limited to MTM, immunization, Travel Clinic.
  • Collaborate with other members of the specialty pharmacy team to ensure Quality Management and Patient Management programs are effective and efficient.
  • Periodically consult with practitioners in the field.
  • Provide guidance for the clinical operational aspects of the program and oversee the clinical decision-making aspects of the program.

Requirements

  • Two years of experience as a licensed pharmacist in a hospital pharmacy or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Licensed to practice a health profession in the relevant jurisdiction.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree.
  • Active registered pharmacist license in good standing with the CA Board of Pharmacy.

Qualifications

  • Specialty Pharmacy Certification and/or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of URAC and ACHC standards.
  • Hospital pharmacy residency.
  • Board Certification.
  • Advanced Practice Pharmacist license preferred (APH).

Skills

  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Experience with clinical pharmacy operations.
  • Knowledge of URAC and ACHC standards.
