Sr Client Executive - Employee Benefits

Lead the tactical and operational design, development, implementation, administration, and communication of assigned client benefit plans, including making strategic recommendations aligned with long-term objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a book of business generating a minimum of $1M in revenue.
  • Oversee all policy activity and stewardship for assigned accounts.
  • Analyze and report on claims data for larger accounts, identifying trends and comparing client data to industry benchmarks.
  • Ensure client compliance with benefits regulations and serve as a resource on the impact of ACA and future government changes.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of government regulations (FMLA, COBRA, ACA, ERISA) and ensure legal compliance, including reporting requirements.
  • Provide training and mentorship to the Client Executive Team for assigned accounts.
  • Foster a culture of vigilance, accountability, collaboration, and high ethical standards while prioritizing client satisfaction.
  • Manage large accounts independently, minimizing errors and omissions through accuracy, timeliness, and attention to detail.
  • Review existing accounts to identify opportunities for additional insurance lines or necessary changes at renewal.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with insurance company partners.
  • Adapt to shifting priorities and evolving job responsibilities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve firm processes, business segments, and overall operations.
  • Escalate issues and discrepancies to leadership as needed.
  • Complete special projects and additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Obtain and maintain state insurance license(s) as required by the State Department of Insurance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field (preferred).
  • Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS), SPHR, or PHR certification (preferred).
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of insurance and/or benefits-related experience, including leading a client management team.

Skills

  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to deliver clear, effective messaging.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Alignment with the firm’s core values and culture.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications: Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook, Word.
  • Ability to quickly learn insurance company and firm-specific software systems.

Special Working Conditions

  • Fast-paced, multitasking environment.
  • Some travel required.
