Sr Carrier Relations Representative
Job Summary
Under routine supervision, this position will accept or reject carrier qualifications based upon adherence to insurance and safety guidelines. The incumbent will assist managers with high-level tasks, serve as an escalation point for carriers and internal teams, and evaluate non-standard and/or complex carriers. This role can act as a team lead for the carrier relations team.
Job Description
Review necessary items from carrier to expedite the hiring process and ensure all contract and insurance requirements, safety verification results, and equipment requisites are complete; maintain involvement in the carrier onboarding process to reduce risk, claims, fraud, and double brokering
Evaluates non-standard and/or complex carriers in the onboarding process
Reviews carriers and internal/external carrier management systems for qualifications to determine approval or denial based upon insurance, safety, and operational standards
Develops strategy for delivering results by maximizing carrier relationships and increasing carrier capacity to meet or exceed departmental goals for outbound calls, capacity growth, etc.
Provides a high level of customer service to carriers through answering inquiries via telephone and email, researching and resolving carrier complaints, and ensuring problems are resolved or escalated in a timely manner
Supports qualified carriers in completing all necessary paperwork required to get set up as an approved carrier and maintains status of activity and documentation in the company's outsource capacity database
Keeps appropriate employees advised through ongoing training or information of changes, risk reduction strategies, examples of losses with causes, consequences, and actions to prevent similar issues
Supports management through acting as an escalation point for carriers and internal team members, providing documentation to internal teams, and assisting with reports
Trains, mentors, coaches, and onboard junior team members
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent with 2-3 years of professional experience and/or military equivalent
Experience in a claims or insurance position
Knowledge of J.B. Hunt
