Responsibilities
- Performs 2D and 3D echocardiograms with color and spectral doppler in the echo lab and at the bedside of high patient acuity.
- Performs stress echocardiograms and dobutamine stress echocardiograms; assists cardiologist with TEE, intracardiac echo, pericardiocentesis, intraoperative echo and code coverage.
- Cultivates a collaborative learning environment that enhances learning across multiple disciplines, including but not limited to: physicians, fellows, students, new hires, etc.
- Recognizes the need for IV insertion and agitated saline and contrast agents.
- Ensures charges to patients align with actual order and test that is performed for accuracy in documentation and revenue return.
- Effectively communicates with department leadership on supply and equipment needs of the department.
- Participates in process improvements related to quality, safety and regulatory goals/initiatives.
- Stays abreast of specialty emerging technologies, protocols, certifications, competencies, etc.
Requirements
- Required on-call rotation for the hospital during the week, weekends, and holidays (must arrive within 45 minutes of call activation).
Qualifications
- 0-2 years of experience required, 3-5 years of experience preferred.
Skills
- BLS from AHA
- ARDMS or CCI certification in adult echocardiogram
