Sr. Cad Drafter

Responsibilities

• Design & Drafting
• Create detailed 2D drawings, fabrication packages, and bid drawings using SolidWorks/AutoCAD
• Create system layouts, P&IDs, schematics, and piping drawings
• Convert engineering concepts, sketches, and redlines into production-ready drawings
• Manufacturing & Fabrication Support
• Produce weldment drawings with full weld callouts
• Create pipe spool drawings (ASME/API)
• Generate BOMs and material cut lists with sourcing details
• Project & Process Support
• Revise drawings based on engineering feedback
• Support project timelines and deliverables
• Generate assembly instructions, installation drawings, and lifting plans

Requirements

• Associate’s degree or Diploma or equivalent in Drafting, Engineering, or a related field
• 3 - 5 years of experience in SolidWorks/AutoCAD Drafting related to Process Piping, Mechanical, General Equipment Layouts, Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and Bills of Materials
• Experience with SolidWorks PDM
• Strong mathematical skills and fundamentals in geometry and trigonometry
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Proficient knowledge of SolidWorks and AutoCAD
• Excellent grasp of engineering and design principles
• Strong ability to communicate with teammates via email and MS Teams
• Excellent communication skills in English

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is a plus
• Experience with sheet metal fabrication/manufacturing is a plus
• Working knowledge of supporting software: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
• Experience drafting design layouts for heavy industrial machinery
• Appreciation for business demands and understanding of manufacturing processes

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75,000.00 - $95,000.00/yr. Benefits include but are not limited to: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K matching, PTO, Holiday and Paid Sick leave.

Work Environment

The role is within a heavy industrial equipment manufacturing company. It involves primarily sedentary work, requiring the ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally. The position demands substantial talking and hearing, requiring the ability to express and receive detailed information accurately. It also involves repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, and fingers, with a necessity for visual acuity to ensure accuracy and neatness in work.
