Sr. Business Systems Analyst

About the role

Our client is looking for a Business Systems Analyst to support the Commodity Risk Management business area. Key responsibilities include facilitating requirements workshops, defining requirements and test cases, documenting processes, consulting with internal partners, implementing new systems, and providing support.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate requirements workshops for large projects.
• Define requirements and test cases using structured methodologies.
• Lead documentation of requirements, test cases, use cases, and design thinking exercises.
• Provide written and verbal updates on projects and solutions to IT and business management.
• Consult to internal partners regarding technology and process solutions.
• Facilitate finding, developing viable technology solutions for partners by working with teammates, IT groups within the company, external service providers, and partners.
• Provide guidance to internal partners by knowing what software systems they have in place and determining what those systems may be able to go forward.
• Interface with internal partners, IT groups, and external service providers to implement new systems, modify existing systems, and provide system maintenance support.
• Provide application and system support for multiple systems used by internal partners.
• Provide support for projects and troubleshooting efforts.
• Perform Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance control execution and evidence gathering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in computer science, information technology, or computer engineering.
• 5+ years of experience supporting technology projects and applications as a senior business analyst.
• Experience developing process maps, gathering requirements, with an emphasis on application testing.
• Follow formal change management policies.
• As lead BSA on capital projects and Operations & Maintenance efforts for multiple client areas.
• Ability to provide second and third-level support for inquiries submitted to the IT Help Line.
• Data analysis experience troubleshooting application tasks.
• Experience working with compliance and regulations (NERC CIP, SOX, etc.) is desirable.
