Working closely with Business Development, Market Strategy & Analytics, Structured Finance, Development, Engineering, Legal, and Asset Management teams, the successful candidate will translate complex market and project inputs into actionable recommendations that enhance pipeline quality, maximize project value, and support successful project execution.

Responsibilities

  • Develop customer-facing proposals, commercial narratives, and value propositions tailored to specific use cases and market conditions.
  • Support negotiation of term sheets, customer contracts, partnership agreements, and development arrangements.
  • Coordinate internal stakeholders to advance opportunities through commercial and development milestones.
  • Maintain pipeline visibility, identify decision points, and recommend actions to improve conversion and strategic fit.
  • Analyze wholesale and retail market opportunities across major U.S. ISO/RTO regions, including ERCOT, CAISO, PJM, MISO, NYISO, etc.
  • Evaluate new value streams, such as wholesale market participation, unique tariff-based savings, or state specific programmatic value, and present up to key stakeholders on the customer value proposition, how to evolve the offering, and establish a market plan.
  • Monitor market design, regulatory, tariff, and policy developments affecting storage economics and project requirements.
  • Develop and maintain market assumptions, competitive intelligence, and recommendations on market entry and investment priorities.
  • Build, maintain, and review project financial models and commercial analyses for BESS opportunities.
  • Conduct valuation, scenario, sensitivity, and risk analyses to support pricing and investment decisions.
  • Partner with Structured Finance and Market Analytics to validate merchant revenue, customer savings, operating assumptions, and downside cases.
  • Synthesize technical, commercial, and financial inputs into clear recommendations for project teams and senior leadership.
  • Support projects through internal governance milestones, investment reviews, and approval processes.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Interconnection, Development, Legal, and Asset Management to evaluate feasibility and execution risk.
  • Conduct due diligence on acquisitions, portfolio opportunities, strategic investments, and development partners.
  • Improve analytical tools, commercial processes, and standardized assumptions for storage opportunity evaluation.
  • Mentor analysts and associates and provide analytical guidance across cross-functional project teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Finance, Economics, Business, Energy Systems, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Approximately 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in energy storage, renewable energy, project development, energy markets, project finance or business development.
