Sr. Business Analyst - People Strategy & Analytics
About the role
People Strategy & Analytics brings data, analytics, and insights to shape critical talent decisions and strategy at Capital One. We work closely with HR partners and senior executives in shaping talent policy, automating real-time data, and improving talent decision-making. The team is composed of people with diverse skills and backgrounds including: data analysts, data scientists, business analysts, project managers, and Industrial Organizational Psychologists. As a Senior Business Analyst, you will apply your strategic and analytical skills to solve open-ended, complex questions about how we should attract, develop, and retain top talent. You will team up with world-class professionals and senior leadership and work on impactful projects.
Responsibilities
- Using data & analysis to help executives conduct workforce planning or set organizational strategy effectively
- Designing new frameworks for evaluating the success of workforce programs
- Developing analyses and tools to help Capital One retain and develop the best talent
- Identify high impact opportunities to transform the associate experience, conduct analysis, and improve HR tools and processes
- Drive and build key programs, including automated insights, HR and labor market monitoring, and internal and external thought leadership
- Partner with clients to design innovative, AI-first data solutions and tools for workforce priorities
- Analyze internal and external workforce data and extract insights to help our clients make data-driven, informed decisions

Requirements
- At least 2 years of professional experience performing analysis
- Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining one of the following with an expectation that the required degree will be obtained on or before the scheduled start date:
- A Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field (Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer engineering, Software engineering, Mechanical engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field)
- A Master’s Degree in a quantitative field (Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical engineering, Information Systems or a related quantitative field) or an MBA with a quantitative concentration
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Business or quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Physical Sciences, Math, Statistics, Engineering
- 1+ years of experience in Python
- 1+ years of experience in SQL querying
- 2+ years of experience in business analysis
- 1+ years of experience in consulting
Pay
Salaries for full-time roles are listed below, by location. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
- McLean, VA: $111,200 - $126,900
- Richmond, VA: $101,100 - $115,400
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter. This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
