Sr Business Analyst

About the role

Sr Cognos Reporting Business Analyst with 5+ years of experience in data reporting applications, specifically in the healthcare domain. Requires 3+ years of experience in an operational role at a Medicaid or Medicare agency and Health Insurance company. Expertise in writing Business System and Process Change / Design Documents, including Business Requirements Documents, System Design, Training Documents, and Process Flow Charts. Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft SharePoint, and JIRA.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed business requirements documents for Cognos reporting systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement process improvements based on business needs.
• Provide training to end-users on new reporting tools and processes.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices in data reporting.
• Support ongoing maintenance and enhancement of existing reporting systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Proven experience in healthcare industry, preferably in Medicaid or Medicare agencies and Health Insurance companies.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex data.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience with Cognos reporting tools.

Qualifications

• Minimum 9 years of experience in business analysis.
• Experience with process flow charts and system design documentation.
• Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance standards.
