About The Position

The Senior BIM Specialist II is TEECOM’s highest level individual contributor in BIM production. You’ll lead complex modeling workflows, drive coordination strategy, and ensure TEECOM’s deliverables are accurate, constructible, and aligned with our standards. You’ll serve as the senior technical expert for BIM execution—solving complex modeling challenges, planning model structure, maintaining model health, and guiding teams through fast paced coordination cycles. You’ll collaborate closely with engineers, Senior BIM Specialists I, Designers, and Production Leads to translate design intent into coordinated models and complete drawing packages. You’ll strengthen TEECOM’s BIM system by refining standards, improving templates and tools, and partnering with R&D and Discipline Leads on firmwide production advancements. You’ll elevate team capability through advanced modeling guidance, informal coaching, and clear technical direction that strengthens documentation discipline and BIM decision making. This position reflects deep production expertise, leadership through technical excellence, and strong ownership of complex BIM delivery.

Leading Production Quality, BIM Coordination, and Model Execution

  • Increase team efficiency by setting a disciplined pace for BIM execution and enabling engineers and Designers to work with greater clarity and confidence.

Contribute to Team Learning, Collaboration, and Mentorship

  • Accelerate the growth of Designers and Senior BIM Specialist I through clear coaching, modeled best practices, and day-to-day guidance.
  • Elevate team cohesion by improving communication, surfacing risks early, and reinforcing transparent, organized documentation.
  • Strengthen TEECOM’s production culture by standardizing high-quality practices and fostering a collaborative, learning-focused environment.

Improve the TEECOM System

  • Elevate BIM quality by modeling disciplined workflows and reinforcing consistent application of TEECOM standards.
  • Strengthen deliverable reliability by ensuring models and documentation are structured, accurate, and aligned with design intent.
  • Influence firmwide production practices by identifying systemic gaps and driving improvements to tools, templates, and standards.

Responsibilities And Expectations

  • Annual and Quarterly: Advance BIM strategy, coordination practices, and production workflows through applied project leadership and continuous improvement.
  • Quarterly: Partner with Production Leads and engineering teams to align goals that strengthen modeling quality, production consistency, and delivery efficiency across projects.
  • Monthly and Semi-Monthly: Lead BIM execution across assigned projects by reinforcing strong model structure, coordination clarity, and disciplined documentation practices.
  • Semi-Monthly: Support coordination cycles and clash detection workflows, helping identify risks early and maintain alignment across disciplines.
  • Weekly and Daily: Lead updates to models, sheets, families, coordination views, and drawing sets to maintain alignment, model health, and delivery momentum.
  • Weekly and Daily: Collaborate closely with engineers to validate design intent and translate markups into coordinated, constructible documentation.
  • Weekly and Daily: Provide production insight to Production Leads by surfacing workload risks, coordination challenges, or skill gaps observed during project execution.
  • Weekly and Daily: Maintain accurate and timely time and expense entries to support delivery accountability.
  • Weekly and Daily: Perform detailed model reviews to reinforce standards compliance, coordination quality, and disciplined documentation practices.
  • Weekly and Daily: Translate complex engineering markups into coordinated documentation while reinforcing strong modeling approaches across the team.
  • Weekly and Daily: Maintain visibility into tasks and dependencies through consistent updates in Asana and related project tools, surfacing risks or adjustments early.
  • Weekly and Daily: Document BIM decisions, standards clarifications, and project specific requirements in GitHub and the Design Decision Log.
  • Weekly and Daily: Strengthen team capability through informal coaching, answering questions, and helping Designers navigate modeling or coordination challenges.
  • Weekly and Daily: Participate in daily huddles to maintain alignment on priorities, risks, and coordination needs.
  • Weekly and Daily: Execute modeling, documentation, and coordination work with strong ownership and minimal oversight.
  • Weekly and Daily: Maintain model health and organized documentation by resolving conflicts, updating views, and reinforcing consistent structure.
  • Weekly and Daily: Communicate proactively with engineers and project teams to confirm assumptions, clarify design intent, and maintain cross discipline alignment.
  • Weekly and Daily: Maintain accurate daily time entries while keeping production documentation current and aligned with evolving project decisions.
  • As Needed: Support site walks, existing conditions verification, or field documentation, capturing findings clearly to strengthen model accuracy and coordination.
  • As Needed: Contribute to pursuits by advising on BIM workflows, production considerations, and coordination impacts.
  • As Needed: Refine families, utilities, templates, views, or scripts that improve modeling efficiency, clarity, and production consistency.
  • As Needed: Collaborate with R&D on BIM standards, template evolution, emerging tools, and workflow improvements.
  • As Needed: Participate in vendor sessions, user groups, or industry forums to stay current on BIM trends and share insights that strengthen team practices.
  • As Needed: Provide guidance on complex modeling or coordination challenges that require senior level production judgment.
  • As Needed: Support other project teams during shifting workload or complex project phases to maintain delivery alignment across the firm.

Supervisory / Mentorship / Training Responsibilities

  • No direct reports. While not a formal people manager, you guide BIM execution across assigned projects—reinforcing modeling expectations, influencing production direction, and supporting Senior BIM Specialist I and Designers in delivering coordinated, high-quality outputs.
  • Mentorship: Provide advanced technical guidance to Senior BIM Specialist I and Designers, offering direction on complex modeling decisions, coordination strategy, workflow planning, and problem resolution. You model disciplined execution and elevate team capability through example and coaching.
  • Training: Lead or contribute to firmwide BIM training by facilitating Revit and BIM standards sessions, sharing advanced workflows, and helping evolve TEECOM’s production methodologies. Support onboarding and reinforce disciplined documentation and model management practices across the discipline.

Experience And Qualifications

  • Education: Associate Degree or Technical Certificate in Drafting, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent advanced BIM production experience.
  • Experience: 7+ years of AEC industry experience with expert-level proficiency in Revit, BIM workflows, coordinated modeling, and large or complex project delivery.
  • Preferred: Experience leading BIM coordination cycles, developing standards, or supporting technology system layouts (telecom/ICT, audiovisual, security, acoustics, or network) in partnership with engineers and project leads.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead production for multi-discipline projects—managing model setup, structure, health, coordination, and documentation quality for an entire team.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, including the ability to plan BIM workflows, delegate production tasks, and support team members across concurrent project demands.
  • Deep understanding of cross-discipline coordination, building system interactions, and how modeling decisions impact engineering, construction, and field installation.
  • Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit with strong experience in Navisworks; familiarity with AutoCAD, Bluebeam Studio, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Asana, and GitHub.
  • Experience contributing to BIM standards, templates, libraries, or automation tools; ability to identify workflow improvements and guide implementation.
