Sr. Billing Specialist

Crossroads Health, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with facilities in Mentor, Painesville, and Cleveland, provides comprehensive behavioral and primary integrated healthcare, early childhood services, and extended housing and recovery services to Northeast Ohio communities regardless of their ability to pay. Our mission is to provide hope, healing, and healthcare to everyone. We are seeking a decisive and self-motivated individual to join our team as a Senior Billing Specialist.

Responsibilities

• Billing client, MACSIS (ADAMHS Board, Medicaid), insurances, and all other potential billing parties in a timely manner.
• Verifying client insurance coverage, additional billing information from MACSIS, and insurance companies in a consistent and timely manner.
• Working within the team and payer structures to reduce outstanding accounts receivable.
• Aiding in efforts that result in additional reimbursement for the organization.
• Following up on all claims that have been denied by payers to determine needs and effectively converting denials into payments based on payer guidelines.

Requirements

• A High School Diploma/GED is required, while an Associate's degree or higher is preferred.
• Five years' experience in a Billing Specialist role within a health center and/or a nonprofit organization is required.
• High proficiency in MS Office Suite of products is necessary.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
• The candidate must be a team player who values delivering outstanding customer service.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass a 10-panel drug screen which includes screening for the presence of THC.
