Sr. Backend Engineer (Hybrid, NYC)

For our client, a leader in the Information Technology space, we are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join their hybrid team in New York City. This role focuses on secure, reliable systems and risk-aware execution, partnering with business, technical, and operational stakeholders to build reporting, surface trends, and drive data-driven decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of core platform services for processing security events
• Drive architecture for the Detection Content Management Platform, enhancing CI/CD processes
• Develop scalable, fault-tolerant microservices using Go and other technologies
• Contribute to the Unified Detections Management system for a comprehensive detection experience
• Mentor mid-level and senior engineers, addressing complex technical challenges
• Architect features related to Policy, Flight Control, and Observability for platform stability
• Collaborate with Product Management to translate strategic vision into executable roadmaps

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software development experience focusing on large-scale distributed systems
• Deep expertise in modern programming languages, with a preference for Go
• Track record of architecting and delivering scalable platform services in cloud environments (GCP, AWS, or Azure)
• Experience with data streaming technologies such as Kafka and Flink
• Understanding of cybersecurity principles and SIEM data models is a significant plus
• Excellent communication skills for conveying technical trade-offs
• Experience in a Staff-level role influencing multi-team initiatives

Pay

$140,000 – $215,000 annually
