Backend Engineer III (Hybrid, NYC)

About the role

This role will lead technical work focused on secure, reliable systems and risk-aware execution. You will partner with business, technical, and operational stakeholders to build reporting, surface trends, and translate analysis into action. The position offers the opportunity to strengthen data-driven execution and help teams focus on the metrics that matter most within a technology-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and build of core platform services for security events processing
• Drive the architecture of the Detection Content Management Platform and CI/CD tooling
• Develop scalable and resilient microservices using Go and key technologies like Kubernetes
• Contribute to the Unified Detections Management for a comprehensive detection experience
• Mentor mid-level and senior engineers while leading technical initiatives
• Architect features addressing operational stability and observability
• Collaborate with Product Management and engineering teams to create executable roadmaps

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software development focused on large-scale distributed systems
• Deep expertise in modern programming languages, with a preference for Go
• Proven record in architecting highly available and scalable services in cloud environments (e.g., GCP, AWS, Azure)
• Extensive experience with data streaming technologies (Kafka, Flink) and distributed computing
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and SIEM frameworks is a plus
• Excellent communication skills for articulating complex concepts to varied audiences
• Experience in a Staff-level role driving initiatives across teams

Pay

$120,000 – $180,000 annually
