About the role

This position is responsible for developing and maintaining robust backend systems that power our cloud-native applications.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable, high-performance backend systems using Java and other relevant technologies.
  • Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of backend components.
  • Conduct thorough testing and debugging to ensure system reliability and performance.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous integration and delivery processes.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in backend development and cloud computing.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of software development experience, with significant experience in backend or distributed systems development.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Java and object-oriented design.
  • Practical experience with AWS services and architecture.
  • Experience with event-driven architecture and messaging platforms such as SQS, SNS, Kafka, or EventBridge.
  • Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
  • Experience with microservices or distributed service-oriented systems.
  • Strong understanding of software engineering best practices including testing, code reviews, and CI/CD.
  • Experience working in Agile or iterative delivery environments.
  • Strong problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Familiarity with security best practices, IAM, encryption, and secrets management.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Qualifications

  • BS/MS in Computer Science or related field.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker and container-based development.
