About the role
Experienced Databricks Architect with expertise in designing and implementing modern data platforms, Lakehouse architectures, cloud-native analytics solutions, and enterprise-scale data engineering frameworks. The role fills the open Databricks + BI position on the BI Track Leads group and acts as a trusted technical advisor to CNP stakeholders while mentoring the onsite delivery team.
Responsibilities
- Drive client discussions on Databricks capabilities, positioning, and value within CNP's current GCP landscape
- Identify, qualify, and shape Databricks use cases; build the adoption roadmap and reference architecture
- Define lakehouse, governance, and integration standards; lead solution design and technical reviews
- Enable downstream AI/ML and BI workloads; partner with the BI and AI/ML track leads on shared data products
- Design and implement Databricks Lakehouse Platform, Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, Databricks SQL, Workflows, and Delta Live Tables (DLT)
- Apply Medallion Architecture Design for scalable data solutions
- Develop Apache Spark batch and streaming solutions with performance tuning, cluster optimization, and cost management
- Utilize Python and Advanced SQL for data engineering and analytics
- Integrate GCP services: BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Cloud Composer
- Implement data governance, lineage, and security practices
- Lead data modernization and legacy warehouse migration initiatives
- Design semantic and dimensional models for reporting; create curated gold-layer designs for BI consumption
- Support Power BI, Looker, or Tableau for dashboard and KPI design, dataset performance tuning, and self-service enablement
Requirements
- 12+ years in data & analytics overall, including 5+ years hands-on Databricks architecture and delivery
- Prior client-facing architect or advisory experience required
