Principal Architect - Databricks

For our client, we are seeking a Principal Architect - Databricks to join the team of a leader in the Technical Services space. This role will lead technical discovery, solution design, and architecture guidance for enterprise data platform engagements. You will partner closely with customer architects, internal delivery teams, and vendor stakeholders to shape scalable Lakehouse and AI solutions. The position also plays a key role in presales activity, proposal development, and ensuring technical risks are identified and managed early in the engagement lifecycle. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $195,000 – $250,000 annually Responsibilities Lead technical discovery and design for data platform implementations Develop proposals and Statements of Work (SOWs) Build and maintain relationships with customer architects Review architecture decisions during project delivery Surface technical risks early in engagements Define success metrics and delivery standards for data platform offerings Collaborate with vendor teams on joint customer engagements Qualifications 5+ years of experience in solutions architecture specializing in data platforms Expertise in Databricks and Lakehouse architecture Proven track record of leading enterprise migration initiatives Hands-on experience with machine learning and production AI solutions Strong presales experience with client engagement and proposal development Ability to collaborate with vendor architects and teams Relevant Databricks certification preferred, or willingness to obtain Benefits Medical, vision, and dental insurance 401K retirement plan with company matching Flexible spending accounts Certification support and funding Opportunities for professional development and continuous learning Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
