About the role
Embark on a high-impact opportunity as a Sr. AWS Cloud Engineer, where you will help accelerate Barclays’ cloud modernization by designing and delivering secure, scalable, and resilient AWS solutions that power critical business capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop high-quality software solutions using industry-aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools.
- Ensure code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
- Cross-functional collaboration, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
- Stay informed of industry technology trends and actively contribute to the organization's technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
- Implement effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
- Adhere to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
Requirements
- Experience with Software development building enterprise-grade applications.
- Solid experience in Java & Spring frameworks.
- Experience with AWS Cloud Services - MSK, EC2, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, Networking concepts, Cloud Formation to design and deploy scalable applications.
- Experience with Messaging platforms and integrations - Kafka, Webhooks & events streaming.
- Knowledge of observability practices (logging, metrics, tracing) using tools/frameworks like CloudWatch, Prometheus/Grafana, Telemetry or equivalent tools.
- AI enthusiast with an understanding of Agentic-AI fundamentals and frameworks.
- Exposure to the financial domain, particularly Core Processors such as TSYS, FDR, FIS.
Qualifications

- Knowledge of observability practices (logging, metrics, tracing) using tools/frameworks like CloudWatch, Prometheus/Grafana, Telemetry or equivalent tools.

Pay
Minimum Salary: $120,000
Maximum Salary: $175,000
