About the role

Embark on a high-impact opportunity as a Sr. AWS Cloud Engineer, where you will help accelerate Barclays’ cloud modernization by designing and delivering secure, scalable, and resilient AWS solutions that power critical business capabilities. In this role, you will work with cloud technologies, enabling faster delivery, improved reliability, and enhanced customer experiences across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop software solutions using industry-aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools.
  • Ensure that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
  • Implement effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

Requirements

  • Experience with Software development building enterprise-grade applications.
  • Solid experience in Java & Spring frameworks.
  • Experience with AWS Cloud Services - MSK, EC2, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, Networking concepts, Cloud Formation to design and deploy scalable applications.
  • Knowledge of messaging platforms and integrations - Kafka, Webhooks & events streaming.

Qualifications

  • Some Other Highly Valued Skills May Include:
  • Knowledge of observability practices (logging, metrics, tracing) using tools/frameworks like CloudWatch, Prometheus/Grafana, Telemetry or equivalent tools.
  • AI enthusiast with an understanding of Agentic-AI fundamentals and frameworks.
  • Exposure to the financial domain, particularly Core Processors such as TSYS, FDR, FIS.

Benefits

This role is located in Whippany, NJ. Minimum Salary: $ 120,000 Maximum Salary: $ 175,000. The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above include only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.
