About the role
As a Sr. Associate, Procurement you will be integrated with an assigned program/business area, and responsible for procuring goods and services to support Government/DoD program requirements, interfacing with suppliers, and ensuring compliance with Government and corporate policies and requirements. Main procurement activity will be in the metal fabrication commodity.
Responsibilities
- Performs daily procurement activity (placing PO’s and maintaining PO documentation) by sourcing suppliers for products or services and performing appropriate analysis to meet desired cost and schedule requirements in support of manufacturing and program activities.
- Addresses quality concerns in collaboration with Quality Assurance, Program Engineering and/or Operations Engineering.
- Develops and enhances relationships with strategic supplier/partners; serves as the primary contact with suppliers, supporting the initial qualification and fostering a positive and mutually beneficial relationship with suppliers and their management.
- Actively works to support the development of new technologies and supplier capabilities.
- Ensures FAR/DFAR requirements are flowed down to suppliers and complied with.
- Participates in and at times hosts meetings to provide material updates in support of assigned programs.
- Coordinates quality issues with suppliers as required and manages supplier returns.
- Reviews open invoices and ensures timely three-way match requirements to keep suppliers current.
- Prepares request for proposals (RFP) and bid packages.
- Briefs management on the status and issues affecting program cost and schedule performance.
- Performs other duties as required.
Up to 20% travel may be required. Ability to lift up to 20 pounds. Ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearances as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
- Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
- Ability to obtain a US LEVEL security clearance.
Preferred Skills
- Excellent people skills, with experience leading and collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team environment.
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, & presentation).
- Strong understanding of FARS/DFARS as well as ISO and AS9100.
- Experience negotiating and managing complex Development procurements for cost, schedule, and quality.
- Experience working and interfacing with Suppliers, Manufacturing, Inventory Management, Quality, and Engineering.
Pay
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in the Greater D.C. area is $63,000 - $117,000. The salary range for this role in Virginia outside the Greater D.C. area is $55,000 - $102,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
Schedule
9/80 Employees work 9 out of every 14 days – totaling 80 hours worked – and have every other Friday off. Onsite at our Ashburn, VA or Richardson, TX facilities.
