What To Expect
The Tesla Internal Audit team is dedicated to safeguarding the company by identifying critical risks and driving actionable solutions. Guided by the principles of keeping Tesla safe and enabling operational excellence, the team collaborates with various functional and business groups to assess risks, enhance processes, and promote efficiency. As a Sr. Associate in IT Internal Audit, this role focuses on evaluating IT controls, ensuring SOX compliance, and providing strategic recommendations to mitigate risks while working closely with cross-functional teams across North America.
What You'll Do
- Utilize a risk-based approach to independently evaluate, plan, perform, summarize, and communicate assigned audit activities
- Support IT SOX compliance initiatives by assessing control gaps and addressing key financial reporting risks through audits
- Evaluate and test application controls and IT automated controls to ensure functionality and compliance
- Assess IT general controls across critical systems to maintain integrity and security
- Manage audit requests and facilitate walkthroughs to ensure thorough documentation and understanding
- Coordinate management corrective action plans by conducting interviews, gathering documentation, monitoring progress, and escalating issues as needed
- Conduct IT audits, recommend control enhancements using data analysis, and provide solutions for risk reduction and process improvement
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 6+ years of hands-on IT audit and IT SOX compliance experience, preferably in Big 4 and in-house internal audit roles within fast-paced technology companies
- CISA, CIA, CPA, or other relevant certifications
- Proven track record of delivering results and career progression through exceptional ability
- In-depth knowledge of critical business processes in industries such as automotive, manufacturing, energy, consumer products, or technology
- Prowess in managing multiple project assignments in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while navigating ambiguity
- Strong skills in building relationships with business partners and staying informed of emerging trends and technology changes
