Sr. Associate, Inventory Accounting
About the role
The Sr. Associate, Inventory Accountant will manage end-to-end inventory accuracy across warehouse and ERP systems. This person will act as a key partner to Accounting, Procurement, and Operations—driving efficiency in PO/receipt processing, standard cost maintenance, BOM integrity, and month-end financial closes.
Responsibilities
- Transaction Processing & Reconciliation
- Data Integrity: Import, review, and process purchase orders. Verify that quantities, units of measure, and item mappings are accurate before posting to the ERP.
- Alignment: Perform regular reconciliations between warehouse management systems and the ERP to ensure inventory transactions match across platforms.
- Cross-Functional Resolution: Partner with Accounts Payable and Procurement to investigate and resolve discrepancies in pricing, quantities, and receipts.
- Cost Accounting & Variance Analysis
- Standard Cost Management: Execute periodic standard price refreshes and cost rolls in the ERP system. Calculate, analyze and document variances between old and new standard costs for management review.
- BOM Maintenance: Partner with the Engineering and Production team to create and maintain BOM records; audit component quantities, substitution rules, and UOM assignments for accuracy.
- Data Validation: Audit item costs against historical purchases and flag anomalies prior to activation. Audit component quantities, substitution rules, and UOM assignments within the BOM to prevent production and accounting errors.
- Month-End Close & Reporting
- Financial Close Support: Assist with the month-end inventory close process, including, but not limited to, preparation of reconciliation schedules, inventory valuation reports, and variance analyses.
- Inventory Insights: Generate and analyze inventory health metrics (aging, turnover, and on-hand valuation reports).
Requirements
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field—or equivalent hands-on experience. 3+ years of experience in accounting, inventory control, warehouse operations, or supply chain. Strong familiarity with standard costing, BOM structures, and UOM conversion logic. High proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics) and Microsoft Excel (v/xlookups, pivot tables). Experience with SQL/BigQuery experience a plus. An analytical mindset with a passion for data accuracy and problem-solving.

Pay
New York: $96,000 - $108,000 per year. Wonder uses geographic-specific salary structures, which means the salary offered may vary depending on where the job is located. The final salary offer will take into account various factors, such as the candidate's skills, education, training, credentials, and experience.
