About the role

An experienced real estate attorney is sought to join a growing real estate practice at Senior Associate, Counsel, or Non-Equity Partner level. The role focuses on complex commercial leasing matters, advising landlords, tenants, developers, and property owners on strategic real estate transactions.

Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on a range of real estate transactions and legal matters.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate legal agreements, including leases, purchase agreements, and financing documents.
  • Provide strategic counsel on real estate development projects and acquisitions.
  • Conduct due diligence and risk analysis for real estate deals.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and mentor junior legal team members, fostering professional growth.
  • Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, and other legal proceedings as required.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in real estate law and industry practices.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted and in good standing to practice law in New York.
  • Ideally around 10 years' experience in real estate law.
  • A strong background in real estate law, with hands-on experience in transactions and advisory work.
  • Substantial leasing experience.
  • Exceptional skills in drafting and negotiating legal documents related to real estate.
  • Solid understanding of legal and regulatory compliance within the Real Estate sector.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction and team collaboration.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines efficiently.
