Sr Associate, Business Development
About the role
The Senior Associate, Business Development, provides essential daily administrative support and coordinates key processes that support department and organizational goals and objectives. The Business Development team focuses on building and strengthening relationships with hospitals, health systems, and universities, expanding AACN's reach, and driving revenue through meaningful partnerships.
Responsibilities
- Ensures the effective implementation and evaluation of key processes that support department and organizational goals and objectives.
- Captures, documents, updates, and supports the implementation of business processes aligned with departmental objectives.
- Supports evaluation of department processes and systems, helps identify opportunities for improvement, and assists with implementing approved process improvements to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and customer satisfaction.
- Maintains effective communications with internal and external customers and key stakeholders.
- Ensures timely and effective response to requests for information from internal and external customers via telephone, e-mail, and mail.
- Collaborates with other team members to create and post content for department web pages and maintain branding and integrity of informational links.
- Coordinates with vendors and/or external customers to ensure compliance with contracts and processes.
- Maintains and updates data management systems and department records.
- Uses computer-aided systems and applications to generate regular reports related to programs and products.
- Provides effective general administrative support to the department.
- Collaborates with other team members to create and post content for department web pages and maintain branding and integrity of informational links.
- Coordinates administrative functions for team members, volunteers, and other key stakeholders, including forms processing, photocopying, print requests, mailing, travel arrangements, and expense reports.
- Maintains and updates data management systems and department records.
- Monitors department budgets, developing routine and customized reports of financial activities.
- Reviews and processes vendor invoices. Proactively identifies and acts on variances. Processes department purchasing in accordance with approved budgets and policies.
- Aids in the preparation of annual and project budgets.
- Program and project maintenance
- Aids in the coordination and implementation of program activities and initiatives in alignment with organizational goals.
- Manages daily administrative tasks, maintains accurate records, and supports program budgets, including tracking expenses and processing payments.
- Coordinates scheduling, venue arrangements, and preparation of materials for program or project meetings or events.
- Tracks project timelines, supports meetings, and assists in ensuring activities adhere to company policies.
- Compiles program metrics, gathers participant feedback, and prepares reports to support future analysis.
Requirements
- Organized with good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Comfortable using standard desktop applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; able to perform basic online research.
- Detail-oriented and accurate in completing tasks.
- Able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work as directed.
- Self-motivated and willing to learn within assigned responsibilities.
- Able to assist with routine problem-solving and follow established procedures.
- Familiar with basic budgeting and project support tools.
- Able to assist with research, analysis, and implementation of approved process updates.
- Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, and Zoom.
Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of experience with responsibilities matching a majority of those for this position.
- Experience coordinating projects requiring interaction with cross-functional teams.
- Experience managing multiple priorities.
- Previous customer interaction experience.
- Experience working with financial data.
- Experience in association, healthcare, or academic assistant roles is preferred.
Physical Requirements
This role requires frequent communication and interaction with others in person, by phone, and via computer, including speaking and hearing. The work environment is generally quiet to moderate in an office setting. The position involves prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing at a desk while working on a computer, as well as regular use of standard office equipment and keyboarding. Occasional movement is required, including walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching with hands and arms. The role requires the ability to maintain mental focus and stamina to manage competing priorities, solve problems, and complete multiple tasks accurately and efficiently. The employee must be able to recall, interpret, and apply oral and written instructions, and remain attentive and responsive while performing job duties. Ability to travel.
Total Compensation
The target pay range for this role is $31.29/hr - $36.73/hr. ** We offer a 37.5-hour workweek.
